The Coronavirus (Covid-19) disease was identified for the first time in the Chinese province of Wuhan in December 2019. The virus was not identified and sequenced until 2020 which left health professionals and scientists with uncertainties that represent both a shared drama and a challenge. At present, over 18 million people around the world have been infected. Since the first months of 2020, first China, followed by Europe and then the entire world, regardless of geography, social classes and age, have been affected by the Covid-19 virus.
This pandemic makes us rethink the concept and narratives related to health and care from the point of view of the medical theory and practice. We share concerns, theoretical and practical questions on the perception, experience and management of the pandemic.
The aim of the International Symposium of Medical Humanities: ‘Rethinking health after Covid-19 pandemic: new narratives between technology and well-being’ is to create an opportunity to share reflections between health professionals, theorists from different disciplines as well as patients, in order to develop a horizon for better health and care by addressing the following issues:
1) Artificial intelligence, society and technology in times of Covid-19
2) Health, ecology and well-being in times of Covid-19
3) What kind of care do we wish for the future? Technology, caring and health
