The Coronavirus (Covid-19) disease was identified for the first time in the Chinese province of Wuhan in December 2019. At the moment, over 21 million people around the world have been infected. To begin with China, Europe and then the entire world has been affected by the Covid-19, regardless of geography, social classes and age.
The complexity of the virus, its symptoms and the way it spreads left health professionals and scientists with uncertainties that represent both a shared drama and a challenge.
This pandemic makes us rethink the concepts of health, as well as the narratives related to care. We share concerns, theoretical and practical questions around the perception, experience and management of the pandemic.
The aim of the International Medical Humanities Symposium: ‘Health after the Covid-19 pandemic: new narratives between technology and well-being’ is to create an opportunity to share thoughts and experiences between health professionals, theorists from different disciplines as well as patients, in order to develop a horizon for better health and care.
